The twinning of another section of Highway 63 is ready for tender. Alberta Transportation spokeswoman Heather Kaszuba said the required studies have been completed but only preliminary construction is set to begin this year.

“We … completed the federal environmental study … between Highway 55 and Mariana Lake, and are preparing for the next section of twinning to begin later next year,” she said.

Kaszuba added that until a bid is secured, she cannot say exactly which section of the highway will be twinned, but she did confirm it will be a section between Highway 881 and Highway 55.

Highway 63 is currently twinned to the Highway 881 intersection, a distance of roughly 16 kilometres.
